ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Bobby is a Marathon openwater swimmer and a triathlete having participated in 15 Triathlons since 2012. He is a cofounder and a swimming coach of Effortless Swim.
He has created The Complete Be A Swimmer System that enables Effortless Swim coaches to teach their students to be able to swim in a short amount of time.
Bobby’s passion is for everyone to be able to swim as as he believes that everyone can swim, and everyone should.
Bobby personally has taught more than 200 students in the last 4 years and some of his students have progress to Triathlons and openwater swims.
Bobby's philosophy is focusing on what works rather than what's perfect, by sharing the principles of an effective and efficient swim and by implementing psychological techniques to build the students' self confidence and self reliance.
Bobby's Transformational Journey from Non-Swimmer to Openwater Swimming
At age 10, Bobby first learned swimming from his father through the sink or swim method. He then continued to teach himself to swim by copying other swimmers in the pool but he was only able to swim the width.
In 1999, he joined his school's swimming club where he did his first 50m swim. He then progressed to practice on his own to be able to swim 1,500m non-stop.
In 2011, Bobby learned Total Immersion Swimming which transformed his swim to be unbelievably effortless. From then onwards, he completed his first Olympic distance Triathlon.
Bobby's achievements include
Completed 5.4km openwater swim in Labuan for 3 years.
Completed Putrajaya 70.3 IronMan in 2014
Participated in 3.8km openwater swim in Langkawi 140.6 IronMan in 2016, 2017 and 2018
Completed 10km Brunei's Openwater Marathon Swim in 2018
